Well, you have to start somewhere. I had purchased the Elite Force 1/6 pilot especially for this project and come to find that he is too large. I wanted to use the exisiting stock ABS cockpit tub and started modifing it to accept the pilot. This required cutting the stock cockpit into sections and removing the floor of the tub. Side walls to the tub were added to increase the depth and length. Once that is established, a new floor to the tub will be added. Much more work required for even a semi-scale cockpit, but since this is not a scale masters entry...the basics will do. Here a few pics of a trial fit.
