When you look at the fundamental cost of 2.4GHz technology it is clear that the early adopters were gouged and that in time 2.4GHz will be the low cost radio control technology, and it will be different from the current channel systems, being more like a Zigbee network.

I can imagine that servos will have an address and the transmitter will contact them using that address. It will no longer be emulating the PWM channel concept.
