RE: newbie trying to decide
If you've got the cash to buy 4 tanks, then it would seem the $25 or $29 more for shipping would be kind of trivial.. I prefer to purchase anything in my own country, rather than dealing with having to potentially return for refund or repair to an out of country location (which will always be more expensive and more hassle).
I'm new with this RC tank stuff too. I had great difficulty deciding which tank to start with, because in my case, I can only really afford to start out with one tank. Actually, let me rephrase that, I really should not be spending a dime on an RC tank at this time, as it is not a necessity, but I suppose I can manage to be a little poorer in exchange for feeling like a kid again with a cool toy (I never had an RC anything as a kid so I don't know, maybe just feeling like the kid part applies only, sort of).
If there was only one tank to choose from, that would have made that part much easier. At the same time, I'm one of those people that usually wants to be somewhat different, so I couldn't just get a standard Henschel King Tiger...oh no, that would be too easy and too common of a tank for me lol. I had to buy a Porsche KT kit instead.. Since it has no electronics, I am now struggling to reach a decision on whether to use a Tamiya or EL MOD controller and sound system. My "different" side wants an EL MOD with custom sounds (that I make myself), not the ones standardly available with EL MOD (which I'm not that fond of after hearing them). I think EL MOD has potential for really cool custom sounds, instead of the same old Tamiya MF sounds (some of them are good, some are not so good).
And I thought I wanted a KV, then I end up with a KT.. Nobody knows for sure what I will be driving come October...not even me lol. All I know is that it will either be German or Russian whatever it ends up being..
So if you feel like your having decision problems, you can take comfort in knowing your pain is probably minimal compared to some others on here.
