I was cut loose on Friday by my instructor at
www.pmac.us So this morning took my solo card to the field and put it in the transmitter box. Took a deep breath,pre- flight checked everything, fueled up, range checked, fired up my Extra Easy 2, made final adjustments on the engine and took her out to the runway. Taxied down, got her in position, full throttle, slight up elevator, a little right rudder to keep her straight and up and away she went! It was picture perfect. Did some minor trim adjustments while flying the pattern and then after a few go rounds brought her in for a sweet landing, nice and level, smooth flares all the way to touch down, with no bounce! Wiped my brow off and did it about eight to ten more times ( I know, after the first flight, stop and go home so as not to jinx yourself with the rc-gods), but it was way too much fun. I want to thank everyone at RCU especially Bill Beardsley, my first teacher Dave Scott at 1st rcflight school in Wisconsin ( this past May), and, Dave Stephens, my mentor at the club , for smoothing out my flying and his great enthusiasm.
