Thank you for the input. You too are someone I respect immensely and welcome any of your thoughts, ideas, suggestions or criticism. I am planning on adding some texture and battle damage to this tank, but I usually add that type of detail later in the build, right before painting. I will most likely use a small burr bit in a Dremel motor tool, and Mr. Surfacer to create the pitted look of the cold rolled steel used to make German armor.

Could you please clarify which part you think is too clean thus far, so I can look at possibly addressing it. You can PM me or e-mail (you have my address) me if you would prefer.

As far as weld beads, I was planning to try a new technique (well at least new to me) that I saw on this forum building a Pz III using .040 half round styrene strip softened with MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) and then textured with a knife. The soldering iron might work well on it as well. Do you have any pics of your soldering iron method you'd be willing to share?
