I know I am right... my history with engines goes back much longer then my time with engine mods..my father owned a speed shop, my grandfather owned a speed shop and my great grandfather owned a speed shop..I am a 4th generation gear head who has spent his entire life building high performance machines..my brother is a master engine builder, he builds Blown Alchohol and injected nitro engines, as well now he is onto Sprint car and late model engines..... He would tell you as well RTV is not nitromethane proof, we have to use special sealers on the nitro engines...... Sorry to say but I know I am correct on this, so what else do you want me to say ? Just like you used to argue the RE32 was not the same as the Axial 32...ends up I was correct, the RE 32 is the same junk the Axial 32 is............how do I know these things ? well it comes from years of working on these engines every day, seeing the results of RTV melting on the inside of backplates and making a mess inside the engine.... as i say the next customers engine that comes in with RTV inside I will snap pictures of the contamination it causes................you guys have the nerve to call me arrogant ? what else am i supposed to say, i already know RTV is not truly fuel proof, I know I am right on this.....Should I be agreeing with people who i know have far less experience and knowledge then i have just to be nice ? what good would that do ? When I was looking for an appropriate crank filler i contacted several manufacturers including permatex and asked if their prodct was suitable, and they all said NO that it was not.... if its not suitable to fill a crank then it obviously can't be nitro proof.. this argument was never about RTV being suitable for sealing an engine, it has been about RTV being nitro proof....
