Default RE: ENGINE SEALANT

Dunno what all the arguing is about.

I've had numerous engines from several different manufacturers over a span of 50 plus years and to date have never found a need to use any sealant except in one instance where the backplate paper gasket was ripped.Your mileage may vary.

Seems strange to me in this day and age of CNC manufacture that any engine should be sold so out of tolerance on backplate and carb fitting that it needs aftermarket sealing.
