Default RE: PCM- Is it worth it?

I've got too aggree with carrellh. I am just going to 2.4, but have a mix of PCM and PPM receivers. I can't tell the difference between them flying. Perhaps if you were in a RF noisy area, the PCM may be worth it, but it also had it's disadvantages. The fail safe is over rated in my view. If you loose signal, you are most likely to crash, Anything beyond a cut in power is a crap shoot as to where the plane is going. I have had one loss of signal problem and it was caused by a battery going open. Fails safe wouldn't have made any difference. Luckly the the plane did slow easy circles until the altitude introduced the plane to a bush. Luck was my fail safe that day, even though the receiver was a PCM receiver.
