The El Mod system is an older one. I don't know much about them as I mentioned this will be my first attempt at installing and running that system. I'm actually getting it from the same guy I got the Pz III from. He bought it, but never installed it. So I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I don't know anything about their history or battery usage. I was told that the older El Mods actually work better than the new version, but I simply don't know. But I guess I'll learn on the next project

Yeah adding an El Mod price tag on top of a Tamiya FO kit would be a bit steep, especially when the Tamiya system works fine. El Mod only buys you a few more options and most of those are sound, but I guess you have to decide if that is worth the price to you or not. I think El Mod offers a great opportunity for upgrading Hen Long, WSN, Bandai's, scratch built projects and pretty much anything else that isn't already a Full Option, battle ready system
