RE: SCALE JET e-S76 build
UIH
What a beautiful machine you have coming Michael. I look forward to the day when mine is flying around, which should be soon.
I first learned of the possibility of this fuse being manufactured, Hmmm, maybe, 2000, or somewhere around there. I was just getting into scale helis and working on the full scale thought, I GOT TO HAVE ONE. I got in touch with Sandy from V-East who was heading up the project and made a deal. Was a pretty simple deal. "If you build it, I will buy it". Sound simple enough.
I sent some photos to Sandy for reference, and talked with him every so often on the progress, and built a very good friendship along the way. It took a long time to get the fuse into production. I have a very good idea of the hurdles that had to be crossed to make this happen, and I will say, I would have quit a long time ago. For this, Thanks to Sandy for not giving up on this project. If he had,s this beautiful model would not exisit.
OK, enough of the sucking up here. Iam starting to slobber all over myself.
This build started" out as a Turbine. A Jaka with SD top mount mechanics. Rumor has it an e-power system was in the works. "OH SNAP" I was all over that. Sold the "T" bought the "E". "YOUR A GUINESS GUMP". This simplified the build 4 fold. No heat or exhaust to deal with, more power, less weight even with the nuke power supply, no JP5 and propane, and all those fuel tubes and fittings, "Fittings and Tubes and Fuel" OH MY. That was...
Anyways, Thats how they say it in the midwest, here we are, sitting on the Group W bench, chugging along with the build. I have attached some photos from kind of day one to present. There may be some gaps here and there after my neighbors parties. I have the coolest neighbor. His entire back yard is a frig-gin Bar. Dude, I am telling you, some establishments wish their place was as nice as his.
Happy 4th Gents,
more to follow,
Butch
