RE: How Many Airplanes Do You Have In Your Hangar?
Super8, i think you are right about the addiction! i have been modeling since 1965 and started in Japan when we went back for our second tour in the airforce. my dad started the first tour, 1958 to 1963. that was the 'tube' stuff. More crashes than successful landings! i started with an OS MAX Minitron 6 channel reed set that cost $168. bucks in 1965.
a couple of years ago someone asked me how many planes i had, so I went and counted everything I had flying, not flying, kit, partially built, in the bone yard awaiting a rebuild! anything that was intended to fly. at this point i'm not sure if i'm bragging or complaining but I stopped counting at 100! I couldn't believe it my self. On top of that I couldn't figure out how I got that much stuff accumulated! I think I have thinned out the herd but there are still at least 80 or so! Pitiful ain't it?
I just went out and took these photo's and I must say that this is the definition of 'ten pounds of crap in a five pound sack'! I'm afraid i will have to up load five more in the next post. I have termed this 'addiction' as 'terminal airplane brain'. bird.
