I joined the Central Virginia RC club. It is located in Powhatan, Va. There are two clubs that are about 25-30 minutes from me. One is in Burkeville, Va. (I am thinking this one is Southside VA RC club) and the Central Virginia Radio Club is in Powhatan, Va. I spoke to a gentleman on the phone and he said their club in Burkeville flies 1/3 scale planes and there are only about 6 or so of those guys left out there. Most have passed away now. He told me I was welcome to come out and fly some while I was learning, and also told me I would probably be better to go with the guys at Powhatan to get my training in with some instructors there. I have been over to the Burkeville field a couple of times many years ago and watched those guys fly. I rode over the other day just to see if I remembered where the field was.
