Default RE: Sig Rascal 110

Hey didg. One of the guys in our club has a Rascal 110 with the FG-36 on it. He purchased the 7 1/2 in extended cowl from [link=http://www.fiberglassspecialtiesinc.com/catalog.htm]Fiberglass Specialties[/link] and then made standoffs to keep the engine as close to the fire wall as possible. The stock cowl is not long enough for the F36 without being modified. As far as Performance goes, I run a g-26 with a 18-6W APC prop. The guy with the FG-36 is running the same prop. My rascal is faster since the G-26 will turn more RPM than the FG-36. However there is no comparison as far as torque. In a climb out, My Rascal has pooped out while the Rascal powered with the FG-36 keeps on climbing. Plus it sounds awesome. My opinion is it needs a higher pitch prop then the G-26 will turn. He did have to add weight to the tail to compensate for the weight of the power plant.
