Freebird - You lucky dog. And, at $40.00, you are really a lucky dog. Mold in the wood. Get the paint away, if there is any, then bleach it out. Dry the area, put on a mask, bleach on rag. Throw rag away when finished, it will disintegrate.

Some paint thinner's will work, bleach is better. You can soak it good, let set overnight, in the morning, you should have new looking wood. Try a little area first.
