I would like to challenge you to who will be the first to finish their 1/8 scale D5!!!
I too, have returned to build on it again, and I'm make some good headway. Any good pointers that I learned/discovered, I'll pass along, and I hope you do the same.
Right now I'm worried about tail heavyness and so I moved the top wing back about 3/8". Another thing I'm doing is to have a suspension in the undercarrage. Thirdly, the opening of the engine cowl is too large, it should be 3", so I added more balsa and turned in down in the lathe.
Also, I made a seperate bellcrank arrangement for the pull-pull leadouts to the rudder & elevator. This takes the tension off the servo.
