The only "cheap" plane that I found when looking for 40-46 size 3D planes was the Modeltech Magic V2.0 at http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/123738.asp for $129. I didn't buy it and I don't know how good it is, but it is cheap and it's a good brand. I have 2 Modeltech planes (a 40 size stik and a 25 size P-51 pole racer) and they fly really well. But again, I don't know how good that particular plane is.

In terms of profile: I see them only for around $200 these days, at least the good ones. However, there is a cheap Chinese profile that I had and it flew really well. I gave it to a friend and he's been happy with it. I bought it on eBay for about $70 (shipped). There's this guy who sells them on eBay and when an auction is over, he always puts a new one on.
