Default RE: Seagull Models

ORIGINAL: Insanemoondoggie

I have the 260 . The ARF looks nice . I had a problem with the laterail balance , Needed 2.1/4 oz of wieght in the left wing to balance. Called Horizon and they told me to try flying it without the weight first , to see how it handled. It would drop the right wing very easily , very hard to land it that way.
I added the 2.1/4 oz. of lead to the right wing tip and made it a tad nose heavy and still had the problem with the right wing dropping at slower speeds.. I`ve talked with several others that have this plane and same issues I`m having with the right wing stall, but not the weight issue. The plane handles very poorly. Very nice ARF, just does`nt handle very well.
I have the Seagull 540 Edge V2 also , much, much better handling plane. I would recommend it , over the 260.
This is odd!
A couple of our club members have the Extra 260 and they are fine.
I've had 2 of the Edge 540 V2's.
The first was great, 'flew straight as a die until someone taxied into it. The second was awful, it was so out of trim that I crashed it on the maiden.
Now,
I had fitted them out identically and the CG's were in the same position as was the lateral balance. Clearly, they don't come out of the box all quite the same.
maybe you have a bad'un
