Default RE: Great Planes Shoestring

Hey Dragonheart,

This was sure a post out of the blue. I still have my Shoestring but can't remember what I did to reinforce the landing gear. Whatever I did it worked because I've had zero problems with it. I would suggest you check the incidense on the elevator though. Mine has a bit of negative which makes it want to climb more and more as throttle is applied. Also, with the way the wing goes on you can't shim it without making the plane look lousy. Really kind of annoying with a plane that needs to go fast and makes those wormburners down the runway much more difficult. I'm planning on removing its tail and resetting it soon. Ah ARF's My OS .91FX worked great on the plane but found it impossible to get the tank pressure high enough with the Bisson Pitt's muffler I purchased for it. I even tried plugging some of the exhaust to bring it up but that just caused other problems. I ended up having to put a fuel pump on the plane and that solved the issue. I was a little dissapointed with the speed I got the the .91.......I was surprised that that engine just doesn't scream like its little brothers.
