search on here for "heat cycle break-in" because there is a whole thread on it, very good information in there

the 'old school' method was to break in with about 5 tanks of fuel, running very rich on the first tank without full throttle bursts, then as you move closer to the 5th tank you lean up a bit and run a bit harder. I used to use that method and never had any problems with it either.

I now use the heat cycle method because it works just fine and is much quicker than the old school method.
