RE: Exclusive Interview of Dave Brown!!
Rusty,
Nice. I look forward to the full interview in the CP-T September issue.
here's an extended question:
Dave,
what prompted you to modify Dick Hanson's Tiporare design to produce the Illusion? How did this design layout change unfold - was it a "we need to reduce the stab anhedral, bring the wing up to the thrust line, increase the area and change the nose moment" or did the idea evolve over a series of Tipo buids and test flights? Compared to the Tiporare, how would you describe the flight behavior of the Illusion?
As a side note, please let Dave know that both the Tiporare and Illusion are an on going inspiration to us all and I hope to send him a picture of a 40" span Tipo I'm almost finished building. I have named it the Picorare. Also, if he doesn't object, I have plans to build a model I'd like to call the Mirage. The Mirage will be a slight variation on a 48" span Illusion built and hopefully finished as a replica of his full size model.
Many thanks!
David.
