A few weeks ago I was having glitching problems with several of my planes. One plane is a search and find problem, three planes is a send the radio into Radio South!! Tony sent me back my radio and all of my planes are now range checking just fine but one of them was still glitching?? OK, now it's a plane problem.
All the control surfaces were going nuts about every 20 seconds and my on board GEM 2000 was flashing odd. The first thing I did was unplug the switch and just plug the battery into the RX, SHAZAM!!!!! Plane was acting just fine. First time I have ever had a heavy duty JR switch go bad?? I replaced it then opened up the bad switch, it had a bunch of dirt and crud in it. I fly on a dry lake bed so it isn't a big surprise.
I cleaned the switch with QD Electronic cleaner and it's working just fine now but I wouldn't ever be able to trust it so I can now be a kill switch on one of my gassers.
This post is just an FYI. Most the time you are having problems like mine it is in the switch more often then the TX or servos. I did have some extra RXs on hand if it wasn't the switch but sometimes I just get lucky.
