Default RE: DL 100 - New Twin on the Block!!

The hardest part for most is getting an 11mm socket deep enough and that has a large enough bore inside to get the pilot shaft off. After that all you need is a small puller that uses bolts, then just use 3 prop bolts to pull it off. Put some good tension on it and then tap on the center puller bolt with a steel hammer, if it doesn't pop off put a little more tension on it and tap again. The hub sitsthe tapered end of the crankshaft and if notcracked itlocks on pretty good.

I don't use or recommend using heat if you are removing a hub that you want to reuse, if you get it to hot you will ruin the magnet and then you won't have any spark. If you are removing a cracked hub it will come off pretty easy, no heat required.

If you have a prop drill jig you can use that as a puller but be careful, the center bolt will only be 1/4-20 and you could break it off in the jig if you don't know your own strength.
