Default RE: prop recommendation

ORIGINAL: springhillflyer

hey guys, i'm flying a pulse xt 60 size plane with a saito 100 4 stroke and i'm wondering what size prop you would recommend.
If you are flying it, and it does fly, then you must have a reason for changing props. Are you dissatisfied with it's performance? If so, what part of it's performance are you not happy with?

Several prop recommendations can be given by a lot of us but different props will give you different performance parameters.

If you are looking for quick acceleration but not concerned about high top end speed, then lower the pitch increase the diameter. A lower pitch will also give you a stronger vertical performance. But, you have to watch your RPM with a four stroke.

Let us know what you are dissatisfied with and maybe we can help you decide.

But, one thing I would recommend is to buy a prop in several sizes and try them out. More than likely you will find something that will work for you and what you want out of this airframe/engine combination. Then you will have spare props, either for this plane if you want to change something later on, or for another plane that you can match up a prop for.
