I am with MINNFLYER on this one. Use ammonia to dampen the wood. I would suggest though that you dampen BOTH SIDES. Just wetting the one side means that it is going to have to "STRETCH", but if you do both sides, the one side will still have to stretch, but not as much due to the other side compressing.
LET IT DRY COMPLETELY before removing from setup.
