Having painted a few models in my time, I know that when the build is complete, thats when the hard work really starts. Finishing a model is a great source of sarisfaction for me, as an amature, however what you can do is on another level altogether. I am jelous.

Paying $2-3k for that kind of finish I think is more then fair. After all you are getting get a real piece of art. It takes skill and a considerable investment in tools and materials.

(How much will it upset you the first time a wing tip scrapes).
