Regarding the original nylon spinner backplate, what about boiling it before using for first time?.
This is not a joke but a tip used by CL fliers when I was a boy: when they received new nylon propellers and due they didn't know for how long they had been stored, they boiled the propellers in a pan with water -suspended and without touching the wall, of course- so the nylon got its humidity level again and became far more flexible and durable.
I remembered about it as if you used the propellers as received they broke as glass when exceding certain regimes.
I for sure will give a try to mine and will test with all possible cares for if after all it still breaks loose.
