Ok to answer my own question as I spent much time now fiddling with the settings.

You do put a "0" (zero) in the rudder channel. And you then put the Airelons on the right stick.

That seems to make it act like the Wildhawks 3-channel controler.

I hope all my research can help others who might not of seen it as clearly as others see it.
