Yes. An absolute must for on-road. For off-road, no point though.
When I race on-road I use a 3-step process before any qualifying run or main. First, simple green serves as a cleaner, apply it to all tires, let it dry. Then I use paragon traction compound, others use trinity death grip (both are pretty much the same). Again, let dry. Finally, a minute or two before the race, apply trinity tire tweak. The tire tweak is still wet when you put your car on the track. Be sure to run a practice lap or two before the race starts.
