Default Carousel

TomD,

While the Falcon Trading "Jupiter" is one of my favorite planes of all time, I didn't care much for my Carousel. Not that there was anything particularly wrong with it... It flew okay, it looked okay, etc. It just didn't measure up to my expectations, after the Jupiter.

I had an ASP .75 in mine, and that was a reasonable amount of power for the plane, but again, it was no rocket. I guess I wasn't sure what this plane was supposed to be. While the Jupiter is a great, no-surprises, fun-to-fly sport plane, this thing seemed too heavy to be versatile, too touchy to be a pattern trainer, too stall-prone to be a fun-fly plane, etc. It just kind of made me nervous.

Maybe it was my paint job. I'd used some maroon spray paint from Tower that I believe had been frozen and thawed in transit, and it coagulated into a sort of pebble-finish that actually ended up looking kind of cool, with the Carousel's "dragon" decals on it. I could never forget that it was an accident, though, and everytime someone would compliment the finish, one of my "friends" would start giggling.

Anyway, I've had two Jupiters, and loved them both. I've heard nothing but good things about the Ready, and I've helped several guys fly them in their "trainer" phase, and they fly just great. And again, I didn't really have a good reason to dislike the Carousel, but I did anyway.

Hope this helps in some way,

Dirtdiver
