Default RE: Tamiya KV1 speed adjustment

ORIGINAL: projbud

Hello I've read in the post above that this modification takes a lot of energy. But I'd like to say that when you drive in normal speed works only tamiyas gears. Another gear is stop. And vice versa. When you drive slow speed works only second gears (HL in my tanks). In speed drive tamiyas engines is only rotate ( not powered) . Power suply is changed when you change speed.

Pawel,

This is me Steve! I was making some assumptions based upon the photos you sent me. I wasn't going to post them unless I got your permission to do so first. It seemed to me like it would increase the current draw when the slow speed gearboxes are engaged. Again, I was summarizing what I noted from studying the photos, I may have concluded incorrectly about some details of the set up. Like for example, I am not sure how your servo is actually moving the second gearboxes forward and aft.

What are your thoughts about using a Li-poly battery or something like that which might fit inside the hull instead of having to mount the battery externally on the engine deck. Also, if it is okay with you, I can post the photos that you sent me on the forum here?

Steve
