I have parked my A-10 in the corner for the moment and have been contemplating what to do? Before I do anything so drastic as to mount the engine on the front, I'm going to try and lighten up the tail as much as I can and move everything in the avionics bay forward to bring in the CG without adding weight.
I probably won't get to the plane anytime soon, but I will post my results.
