I would like to take position to a comment made earlier by a poster "don't be afraid to try the Chinese made Surestarts".
Cox has never made any engines in China. This is a common, albeit persistant myth. All the Surestart engine parts were manufactured in California. The plastic backplate, if I am not mistaken, was made in Mexico. This is a US made engine and runs really great. Because Estes closed the Cox division in January, these engines were sold to a wholeseller below their actual cost of production.
Advertising is not allowed on the boards, fair enough, but if you Google "Cox engines" you should be able to find where 35,000 of those little babies are stored
