RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
I checked the manuals for the two engines and they use the same piston, conrod,sleeve, head (same part numbers). The only difference is the T3 has three head shims and the G3 two. It has a different block, crank and backplate and starter only. It looks to me like the idea was to keep things in line with the T-15 dimensions and mounting. I think the extra head shim helps at higher RPM but have to think more about this.
I decided to slowly build a really cool MT2 between now and the start of next season with aluminum and aftermarket in all the right places. I have a lot of RCs and am in to hurry so I plan on being efficient with auctions and good deals when things slow down in the winter. The current MT2 will be stripped of the cool stuff and replaced with stock and sold next spring.
I have a question about the GPM aluminum radio plate and how it works. It looks like at top plate so where does the battery mount?
