94 octane and honda hp2 32:1 was used engine purred when it ran

Greg,

You might want to post this info in a new thread so more people will see it. You will be more likely to get some assistance if you do that (otherwise the only people who see it are those who read this thread).

You are right on the money with oil and gas, so no problems there. If you get fuel into the carb, will the engine run? Does the engine make a "clicking" sound in the crankcase when you turn over the prop? Do you have a good spark at the plug (pull the plug, hook it up to the ignition, turn over the engine, look/listen for a spark - don't get shocked!)?

Is this a brand-new engine, or is it old (more than ~7 years old) but never run? There was a problem with the Bing carb ~7 years ago but all the newer engines have no problems (now have Walbro carbs).

If the engine will pop and run when gas is forced into the carb, you might need to replace the carb gaskets/flapper valve/diaphragm set (Walbro carb rebuild kit is ~$7 at a lawn mower shop).

Clicking in the crankcase is a loose drum rotor plate. Just tighten the holding screw a bit and tighten the securing screw and you are good to go.

If you can't get a spark at all, the ignition may be shot.

If this is a brand new engine purchased in the last few months, Troybuilt Models should give you warranty support for it. I don't know whether they will honor warranties from RC Showcase, but it is worth asking!

Good luck!

Great looking plane by the way. I love the look of the Decathlon.
