I use the Eagletree telemetry system with GPS.

I can have on line, all the info of the model including its track in a Google Earth map of the field.

Once the model is lost you can see the red line track in the map and get the coordinates where the line was interrupted or even if the telemetry is still working, you can see the dot where the model is and find it with a GPS.
