You guys can do away with the expensive systems and directional high dollar trackers etc. etc.

All you need is a simple scanner and................drum roll please.................


A BIG RED BEE

Do a google search for the big red bee. A fella designed it over in your neck of the woods Chad. It is a simple tracking beacon around 400 mhz. It is programmable. I have my ham call programmed along with a series of morse code beeps. Morse code can be heard above any other type of communication on a frequency when all else fails. It can be tracked with a simple hand held radio scanner and a rubber duck antenna. When you get close to the model, pull the antenna off the scanner and keep walking. I tracked full scale radio beacons for years doing this and always found my beacon.
