Hi guys,
Just barginin' in real quick.. I see some talk about the G401B gyro and the EXI Legend 450.
I just bought both in the last month or so. The Legend 450 is an awesome heli, the big plus on it is that the it has a main shaft pulley system for the tail rotor. (Same as the HBK2). It's quite, easy to adjust belt tension and so on. It's a simple system and works great.
For the price of 55 bucks, ya can't beat it. The major thing on any heli, and I repeat this all the time is ''SET-UP''. That's the most critical aspect of any good flying helicopter. Take the added time to make it on the money.
G401B gyro: That's another winner right there, I would recommend it to anyone. It does hold rock solid.. I don't do 3D so I'm not sure of it's total capabilites, but sports flying it's GREAT.
One thing ya have to remember with ANY gyro, it does take time to get it set up properly. Tweeking here and there.
Always center your tail servo with the gyro out of the circut. Plug tail servo right into the RX first, then install the Gyro.
There's a Limit pot and a Delay pot on the gyro, plus you'll need to tweek the TX setting. Takes some time, but this puppy is really a nice RIDE..

There ya go guys....right from the horses mouth so to speak. The EXI-450 standard is a good heli too, just replace the landing skid struts and tail drive gear system with Align stuff, you're golden. I bought the EXI-450 Plastic version last time, but I had CNC to install on it....no biggie. There are only a couple SMALL differences between the standard and plastic versions but generally, it's the same heli. The EXI (Exceed) Legend uses EXI engineering with a main mast pulley to tail drive system which is more dependable and QUIETER. The Exceed Legend has an EXI part number. If you're looking for a good 450, the Legend or the EXI standard are a good solid choice. The G401B....unless you spend $150, you're NOT gonna find anything that good...NOT Telebee, NOT E-Sky HHG, NOT Walkera. This is a top of the line gyro that amazingly sells for $43 shipped. My $.02 worth.
