You did a great thing for that you kid , when I was younger I had a very similar experience only I was the kid I didn't have a duct fan jet but 2 meter powered glider that I put together myself , no one wanted to be bothered to help me fly mine or even fly it for me , needless to say I left , because I felt I was just being a bother , I wound up flying it and soloing that plane in the same day..... by myself . Moral is I almost quit , this young man because you cared enough didn't and probably wont . GOOD FOR YOU !
