I've been using piezo gyros on jets since they hit the market, using JR, ACT and Futaba gyros, with complete success, firstly on rudder and nosewheel steering but latterly on aileron functions too, they can significantly smooth things out particularly in rough air.

However, these individual gyro units are all now almost redundant with the launch of the Weatronics Micro Gyro 111. This tiny 2.4 receiver , same size as a JR1221, which since its FHSS has no satellites, incorporates three gyros. Each gyro can be assigned to ANY channel or servo , and two gyros can be assigned to one channel/ servo for elevon use in pitch and roll, or whatever you need. Gain can be controlled by an assigned tx. channel (conventional or attitude hold) or just assign a value and release the channel, using the software, just a few mouse clicks.

I have just received the first production Micro 10 gyro 111 and I will soon have it installed in a Savex L39 for 3 axis damping which should smooth out this little jet. I believe the Gyro 11 will be available on all three Micros 8, 10 and 12 channel versions.

Dont know the cost yet but my guess is its going to be a lot cheaper than the cost of a decent receiver plus the cost of the individual gyros.
