How many in plane charging fires have there been ?[sm=52_52.gif]
I've seen pics of at least two in-jet lipo charging fires. I personally cooked one myself in a non-jet app. The good news was that it was not in my plane at the time. I was damn lucky though, that I was standing right next to the batt and was able to immediately throw it clear the instant it "cooked off" while attached to the charger under the hood of my ChevyTRUCK.
What the hell was I thinking? I would NEVER charge one in the plane for safety reasons, but thought that under my truck hood was OK? What an idiot. I'm cringing at my own stupidity even as I write this, but I don't mind if it keeps someone else from doing the same thing.
I now have longer input wires from the truck batt to the charger, and any field charging takes place on the ground .
