Default RE: .049 sailplane set up

Steve, I don't remember whether the pine block (real lumber!) for the slope glider nose came with the kit or if I had to get it but the aluminum sheet (I'm thinking 1 3/4" wide) that went around the pine was included.

I went with an OS .15 and was really happy with mine. I also went with the high wing with ailerons but with the T tail just to be different at the field. Also with the removable wing tips.

If I had it to do again, and had a Cox .15 I would do that but I think if the throttle usage is real important to you that Most any of the better .15 to .21 engines would do fine. I might pick the OS .15 LA.

No matter What engine you go with, go as light as you can with any building and covering behind the CG because it tends to build tail heavy. Doing this will keep you from adding a lot of useless extra weight to the nose.

I would say it is a fine flying sport plane that does not excell in any area. Don't expect axial rolls and if you use the plug in wing tips the ailerons are really mushy and pretty much like those on an airliner.

I hope you do a build thread on it! That would be so cool. Just don't cover it with ugly colors like I did.
