I also used the power pod on a G.L. and a Gnome. The climbout wasnt spectacular but neither needed as much re-trim from power to glide as the 2X4 especially the Gnome which has a E205 airfoil. On the G.L. I also placed a 1/8 inch popsicle stick under the front of the power pod and wing to tilt it up more and this helps out. The rear of the wing pad on the power pod was placed at the trailing edge of the wing. It will make a great trainor for your grandson as it flies slow and is easy to keep in eye sight....
