With apologies to LCS, for making a simple, superficial observation,
but isn't all this being talked about, grumpy old folks, snotty young folks, cliques, attitudes, etc., just human nature? What, is everyone s'posed to change stripes before coming to the field?
None of that is going to change, ever.
And just MAYBE the club members will never change their minds after they OUST the fool.
Then it won't MATTER.

The club attitude thing is no ''eureka!'' moment. Tell us something we don't know.
Practically everyone I've met, who's stayed in the hobby more than a year or so, has jumped into it whole hog. People dang near go broke and lose wives over it. They don't get discouraged because someone made fun of their ARF.
AMA isn't growing because, whether the hobby itself is or isn't growing, people are not seeing the NEED to go AMA.
Well, GEE, then....
So I guess it's just that YOU don't like the AMA but you're fond of grumps, and I just don't like GRUMPS but I like the AMA, and we've BOTH found a place where we can SLAM the other's likes and dislikes.....
