RE: WACO YMF
rmattis,
As Cricklewood said, go to the House of Moy, download and print out the Manuals. The Long Manual is just as it came with the later kits, the Short Manual (revised) has most of the changes/improvements added that have been developed by the members. The manuals can be used for both the 1/5th and the 1/6th size Pica Wacos, just note the sizes called out in the manuals are for the 1/5th and make the change for the 1/6th.
The are some improvements that you will want to include in you build such as the wing joiner doublers (a definite change), dual aileron servos (eliminates the single servo in the middle for better aileron control), moving the tail wheel forward to the scale location, engine mounting change from hardwood beam to the radial mount (nylon type) common today (allows mounting a single cylinder engine sideways or the mounting of a twin cylinder), larger tank compartment/access, main gear shock absorption and some other things.
There is a lot of other info that can be found on the HoM site, just look around at the other stuff listed.
The 1/5th plans on the HoM site are the older (pre 1990, 3 sheets) plans and they do have some useful info. The 1/5th plans the AMA has are the newer (post 1990, 2 sheets) that have had some info removed and the tail wheel relocated to the scale location.
It is now a daunting task to read this whole thread so if you have any questions just ask and someone will have the answer for you shortly.
