If you have a metal file laying around lightly file off the black stuff (you can use a fine grit of sandpaper if you don't own a file but I don't really recommend it), and after letting it heat up put some solder on the tip to make it a nice shiny silver color. but that video I posted is actually fairly good for instructions on basics of soldering which should work fine for putting wires on a terminal.
