I've been flying an AR500 in my plane for over a year. I've had several "accidents" all my fault and still the Ar500 keeps on going. I love it. Problems with all 2.4 receivers "locking out" are usally do to the voltage dropping below the threshold. If you are flying 3D and activate more servos than the battery supply can handle you can get a voltage drop causing the receiver to drop out.
