Default Gas Engine Identification

I have an engine that I can't identify. It has a A & M sticker on the side. The front of the cylinder head has 44 7 N 18 cast into it and Mahle on the back. It has C & H ignition with linkage to a wood ring on the front connected to the throttle to adjust the timing. It has a square Bennett style smoke muffler. I have a 27% Hanger 9 Extra 260 that calls for a DA50 sized engine and I want to see if this engine will work. I thought it was a 3.2 Sachs but I've been away from the hobby for some years and the 4.2 Sachs I have seems much bigger. Anybody out there know what I've got?
