Great Planes has to use Monocoat, they make and market it.
You are right, it is inferior to Ultracoat.
I'm finding more and more of their stuff and/or instructions to be inferior.
And over priced.

That's true. And have you seen the Monokote VHS? I thought it was the most substandard instructional videos I have ever encountered. The UC version is way better. I have heard that MK is used to be good until they changed the formula. Now why on earth would you still produce stuff that people find to be substandard? DP
