RE: How many times do you crash?
been flying over 30 years. not sure how many planes i've owned. damn near crashed them all. either dumb thumbs, or mechanical, or bad set up (metal clevis on throttle arm) planted that one on maiden into a frozen lake. self designed trainer type, disingrated in high speed dive. funscale p51, flew over my head, turned around........ toothpicks. last one was a nose heay ultra stick 40 with a .61 on the nose. landed in the weeds, and ripped off the landing gear< repaired. parkzone, radion powered gliger, stalled, nose broken off< repaired. bashed a bunch of foamies, including edf's. cap 232 with missing wood on the wingspar. wing folded on it's second flight, into asphalt. lost an os .61 with that one. planted a seagull models seabee pattern plane last year, about it's 5th or 6th flight. doing high speed passes, half the elevator decided to fly on it's own LOL. spectator told me afterwards he heard the "buzzing" flutter. asked him why he didn't say anything, he just walked away with his head down! LOL i owe him one. got a 25% yak 54 gasser. my first gasser. $700 invested, flown it twice, but my knees still knock. HA-HA will plant that one sooner or later. hotdogging with an h9 '80 j3 cub, and stalled it about 10 feet off the deck. numerous crashes learning to fly heli's. jr venture, had the glow plug remove it's self twice. started using red loctite after those. they don't glide well from 20 feet and being a heli newbie. but i learn from all my crashes. that's how i taught myself to fly!!!
