Typhoon 2 3d
I learned a lot about flying with this plane. I have hot glued back together numerous times. Saturday I decided to remove the old glue and epoxy the engine mount in properly. That all went really well. Put it all back together and did a pre flight check of all the control surfaces and motor etc... The motor spun up just fine, at least for a moment. then the motor kept running and the prop wasn't spinning. Not good. removed the prop and cowl to investigate. This a gear drive brushless motor, not direct. Anyway, discovered that the shaft between the motor and the gear had snapped in half (too many crashes I suppose). picked a new motor at the LHS last night. 39.00!! 42 with tax. Half way home I remembered that I still have the os 46 LA. And thought " man for 50 more dollars I could've bought an ARF that I could've put the the 46 in". I almost turned around and took the motor back and bought another plane. Oh well probably what I should've done. but the foam typhoon is alot of fun. Just don't know how much longer it will survive my abuse! ALl these decisions, all the money! Man what a hobby!
